Night Skydiving
Skydiving into the unknown
Stepping out of that plane and hurtling towards the earth below takes guts at the best of times, but doing it when the world is cloaked in darkness? That’s taking it to a whole new level!
Of course, night skydiving isn’t for the faint of heart, and sadly (or perhaps luckily, depending on your perspective), you have to be an experienced skydiver to attempt this insane feat. It requires careful planning, specialised equipment, and, most importantly, a healthy dose of courage.
By the light of the moon
Night skydiving typically takes place during a full moon, leveraging the ambient light to enhance visibility. But let’s not kid ourselves – jumping out into blackness is a whole different ball game.
Skydivers embarking on a nighttime jump are equipped with an illuminated altimeter, a crucial tool for maintaining altitude awareness. Additionally, they often adorn themselves with LED lights, glowsticks and sometimes fireworks, not only for safety but also for that extra touch of excitement.
Night time landing
But landing in the dark? Now that’s a challenge. Even with the landing area lit up like a Christmas tree, navigating the descent requires precision and skill. It’s a thrilling test of both nerve and expertise.
